New glass arrived - elephant 🐘 Main idea behind this glass - wide and flat bottom to allow intense smell even with small amounts of liquid. I haven’t tested it yet, but first feedback from others is positive.

Couple o thoughts about this glass after tasting 21,5 ml of Gaube 1972 44%:
very expressive nose which doesn't require much focus to pin point nuances, actually everything is very distinct
it doesn't require rolling the glass to cover it with alcohol, it's even not recommended
almost immediately after pouring you need to start nosing, because alcohol is "opening" really fast
after about 15 minutes first aroma layer is gone, like flowery and delicate aromas, leaving only "heavier" ones
after 30 minutes aromas are quite stable
it's a bit uncomfortable to drink as you need tilt the glass a lot to pour anything into mouth
easy to control how big/small sip you take
alcohol is absolutely not noticeable, but in case of this Gaube in copita it's not a problem as well
nose is still very intense even if there's almost nothing in the glass
To sum up, very interesting glass which helps a lot to evaluate aromas, but at the same time it's really fast. Additionally, even couple of milliliters are enough for nosing. If you want to chill out and slowly sip something for an hour or longer then it's probably not the best option. It works great up to 30 minutes and you need to keep focus on it all the time if you want to get the most of it. Maybe, if you pour more it will give you more time for each layer and in total. I guess cover may be a little help as well. Personally, I don't need that much of aromas amplification at the expense of short tasting time. If it was a bit slower so that whole experience evolved in around 1 hour it would be perfect for me. Stem is too long for me - I don't have big hands - and it makes this glass too tall. Shorter stem would improve stability. Some say this glass is absolutely ugly - I don't care. Maybe it's not slender and charming like copita, but so what? Next test - something with ABV above 50% or maybe estery rum with ABV above 60%.
@Brockster
