Our latest special edition is a 16-Year-Old whisky inspired by the moment, each spring, when the swallows come back to nest at our distillery — an annual reminder of how Orkney’s uniqueness makes our whisky different by nature. The first sighting of swallows returning to Orkney represents the start of those warmer months, marked with two words chalked onto our kiln door: SWALLOWS BACK.

Swallows' Return brings together a delicate balance of European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks to create a whisky full of tropical sweetness—with notes of warm vanilla and toasted coconut offset by a subtle hint of aromatic smoke from our Orkney heathered peat.

Auf den Bildern im Newsletter ist mir aufgefallen, das einmal 40% und einmal 46,5% auf dem Label steht.
Bin mal gespannt, was er wirklich hat.

Für mich solide 86 Punkte…

Sehr schön, als taugt er möglicherweise als Mitbringsel.

Warst du in der Brennerei? Mit Tour ähm Experience- wie schauts nach der Renovierung dort aus?

Zum mitnehmen, geht er auf jeden Fall.
Tour mache ich bei Highland Park keine mehr, völlig überzogene Preise, für das, was man geboten bekommt.
Scapa lohnt sich meiner Meinung nach aktuell mehr, mit dem neuen Tasting Room als absolutes Highlight. (Die Tour für 45£ ist die Beste)
Der aktuelle 11yo Distillery Exklusiv ist auch empfehlenswert.
